Today I finished this little watercolour, the last of three that I had put aside a while back. While I was working on it, the shuffle on my iPod served up Michael Jackson's "You Wanna Be Starting Something." (Yes, I'm a Michael Jackson fan.) It was a timely reminder to get on with some new work.

As luck would have it, I was also going out this evening, to an event called "The Bridge" run by my friend Lynn Harrison... and the theme this time was "Beginnings." I got up and played one of my songs, "Hollywood Movies and Fairytales" (about becoming aware of your self-imposed limitations, thereby freeing yourself and creating new possibilities). In this year of living artfully, I am finding my way back to my music as well as my art... new beginnings indeed.
